About the Artist

David DeSantis currently attends California State University Long Beach as a 4th year. He is an art major specifically in printmaking. Before he became a printmaking major, he use to major in typography and graphic design. He was inspired to become an artist when he had a job painting on motorcycles.

Formal Analysis

His paintings are mainly on a large, white, thick paper in black and white. His printmaking designs looked really detailed, as if it was in 3D. He focused on making his picture look abstract.

Content Analysis

DeSantis’ paintings were inspired by the music he was listening to when he was making them. He said that he created his art pieces based on the rhythm and beats of the music he listened too.

My Experience

I really enjoyed the content of this exhibit because I like how created the images in such a spontaneous way. His inspiration to make paintings through printmaking is very interesting to me. I think that type of art inspiration is a sign of real passion.
